Wedding entrance dance gets attention
Looks like these two took the serious route.
The JK in “JK wedding entrance” stands for Jill and Kevin. Their YouTube wedding dance video has gotten quite a bit of attention.
But before we can discuss the JK wedding entrance dance video, you’re just going to have to see it for yourself. Watch YouTube wedding dance.
Wedding ruminations
Weddings can be a lot of things. They can be expensive, as in down-payment-on-a-house expensive. For some celebrities, they can be buy-the-whole house expensive. Unless it was a quickie in Vegas, you probably couldn’t pay for a wedding with a no fax payday loan.
Even simple, less expensive weddings usually cost a big chunk of change. I have always believed that on your big day, you should definitely do it the way you want to. However, weddings are often paid for by the parents, and inevitably that means a lot of parent-pleasing goes on instead of really focusing on the couple to be wed and their ideas and desires.
J and K have it their way
However, it’s clear on the JK wedding entrance video that it is their wedding and they will do it their way. Because their way happens to express their complete and utter joy on their wedding day, the JK wedding entrance video has become the feel-good viral video of the moment.
Music and dancing can express emotions in ways that words sometimes just can’t. As the bridesmaids and groomsmen start off the ceremony dancing away to “Forever,” by Chris Brown, it’s hard not to smile, laugh and get swept up in the levity, joy and celebration.
Breaking tradition
Of course, as with anything that takes place in or around a church, there are disapprovers. Some people believe dancing in a chapel is inappropriate as well as the clapping and cheering that followed it. It’s no secret that there’s a large faction of people out there who believe marriage should be a very serious, solemn, sacred and reverent event.
I think dancing is an excellent way to express joy, and weddings are supposed to be the most joyful day in the couple’s lives. The only thing that made me feel disappointed about the JK wedding entrance video was that I didn’t think of it first.
Moral support
Of course, the majority of people out there are watching the video with great delight and appreciation. The complainers are few and far between. I’ve only seen a couple of comments that said the commenter thought the idea was stupid. Most people feel the same way I do, which is “I should totally do that! I love it.”
The JK wedding entrance video does get me thinking, though, about the strange technological age we live in. Millions (yep, I checked, millions) of strangers now have seen the beginning of Jill and Kevin’s wedding.
Internet’s web of happiness
Some scary, crazy, negative things have resulted from the internet. For instance “Erin Andrews peephole video” had been one of the most popular search terms on Google for five days. The internet has made spreading voyeurism and perversion, stalking and harassment easier than ever.
That’s why I very much appreciate reminders that this “series of tubes” makes spreading joy and laughter and love easier as well. I can always find something to make me laugh or cheer me up. I can make plans with my friends to go sing karaoke. It’s heartwarming to see people using the internet for good.
